God has blessed Berea Baptist Church with growth in the last several years and a burden to carry our community ministry to a new level. Our church voted to proceed with creating a building fund to move towards the expansion of the Church. As a result of prayer and God’s gracious plan, in March, 2008, we were given the opportunity to purchase an additional 2.87 acres from the late Phyllis Caldwell. This property lays adjacent to our other land on Dillingham Circle, giving us a total of 7.12 acres. We did not go looking for this land. God brought it to us! Berea Baptist Church has once again demonstrated its pioneering spirit, faith and vision—vision to be a church not only blessed with a wonderful past, but faith and trust in God for an enduring, effective future.
Berea Baptist Church is dependent on God through the faithful and generous tithes and offerings of God's people to pay for our church's ministry, missions, and building needs. We remain grateful for the commitment of our congregation to give above and beyond their regular tithe to the building fund. It is our goal and desire to payoff the mortgage on the newly purchased land within 3 years. As Scriptures remind us, we should give as the Lord has enabled us. Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to help you in your giving.
Is it possible to payoff this mortgage early? It is when it’s done as an offering to the Lord. As he has shown us in the past, the Lord will continue to bless our efforts, if our efforts are to further his kingdom works. Just think…..if 200 people give $5,000.00 over three years, that would be a million dollars!If we break down the giving, the numbers don’t seem so bad.
